Managing your devices

Each license allows a limited number of active devices at once (3 by default). Understanding where to manage that saves confusion when you get a new computer.

The app manages only itself

Settings → License & Activation in the app can only activate, check the status of, or deactivate the device you're currently using. It has no view into your other activated devices — there's no list of them anywhere in the app.

The website manages everything

The license portal on the website is where you see and manage every device on your license at once: look up your license by key or email, see each device's name and last-seen time, and deactivate any of them remotely — including ones you no longer have access to (an old computer that was wiped, lost, or sold).

Moving to a new computer

  1. On the old computer, if you still have access: Settings → License & Activation → Deactivate.
  2. If you don't have access anymore: use the website's license portal to deactivate that device remotely instead.
  3. On the new computer: Settings → License & Activation → paste your key → Activate License.

If you try to activate a device while already at your license's limit, activation will fail until you free up a slot using one of the two methods above.

FAQ

How many devices can I have active at once?
3 by default. This is set per-license and shown on your license's details.
I lost my old computer without deactivating it first — am I stuck?
No — deactivate that device from the website's license portal instead; you don't need access to the old machine itself.
Does reinstalling the app on the same computer count as a new device?
No — activation is tied to a device identifier generated once per installation and stored locally, not to the app installation itself. Reinstalling on the same machine typically keeps the same identifier.
